On one hand we are all being told to not have credit & watch our spending, so why do banks keep sending us "attractive" credit card offers?
Do you think they should?

I don't think that banks should be allowed to 'entice' people to take credit credit cards via mail shots, likewise bank loans.
If a person wants a loan or credit card, then they should have to apply for them via their own bank in person, imagine how much ID fraud could be prevented.
Also, by applying in person they would not be able to lie about income and out goings because their bank would already have details, that way a great deal of debt and heartache could be avoided.

I would burn it or put as much distance as I could from them. They flood you with other cards and have tiny print on the contract explaining new rates happen in 1 year or less on the outstanding balance.

I moved to the UK last year from Canada and I have my citizenship for both UK and Canada due to my father being a british citizen. I've been trying to apply for a credit card so I can establish a credit rating but all credit card application forms ask for a previous address if you have not been living at your current address for two years and they don't accept international addresses.
