Is there any way available balance of a credit card can be checked or predicted on the internet without necessarily accessing the issuing banks online banking facility - A mysterous friend of mine just told me it's pretty possible. Can anyone help?

Well, you would need online banking OR phone banking....depends upon what your bank provides as a service.
You could call the bank tomorrow during business hours.
You can check your balance by using your debit card at the ATM.
I use online banking. Sometimes you can set that up at home and other times the bank has to give you the initial password.
My bank doesn't offer phone banking but my previous bank did. You will need a PIN # for that.
Hope you find a way. I'm 63 miles from my bank so it's essential that I use online banking. Try it...it's worth the start up effort.

It actually is kind of hard to understand what you're asking. I'm not really sure what you mean by transferring between your debit card and a credit card.
Are you asking how to make a payment on your credit card with your debit card? If so-- log on to your credit card's website and plug in your account information. Instead of paying with the actual debit card itself, you're going to have to use your account number (that the debit card is linked to) and your routing number for the bank. It's pretty much doing a check online, except you do not have to void one out.
