business card holder

hi, i'm a secondary business credit card holder in a small company i'm working to. i would like to know if i could get a credit points in my credit history whenever i use it for business purpose (of course) or only my employer will accumulate the points?

You absolutely benefit from the use of the Corp Card. You will immediately inherit the history of the card. Keep in mind though you can also get hit with any negative should the bills not get paid. Not to worry though if that happens you can request the account to removed from the credit agency reporting. You would need to request it removed due to you only being an authorized user.

Is there a credit history build up for a additional or secondary credit card holder?
rob zombie cigarette case money clip and belt buckle!

I am having a american express business credit card with my employer as a primary card holder, for the last six months. I use this credit card for the official purpose only. So my question is, am I making a credit history or not.

It depends. Some cards report onto the credit reports of "Authorized Users"...though I'm not sure if this applies to commercial accounts.

I know that I added my husband as a user to my discover card and he got an instant 3 year history (how long i"d had the card open).

Does anyone know of a car rental agency that does not require the credit card holder to be present?
i love lucy switch plate

My father-in-law, who lives 300mi. away, would like to rent a car by phone(using his credit card). The rental agency must be in my town, because I'm to pick it up and drive my family down to see him for Christmas, then use it to go home. Besides USAA/Hertz, and Budget, is there an agency that will do this? His credit is exemplary, he owns a business, and is a member of USAA. Help, please, he really wants to see his grandkids!

Any rental car company should be able to do this for you.

He simply needs to list you as a registered driver when he rents the car, and tell them that you will be the one picking it up... I believe.

I know people that travel a lot for work... and know people that have traveled for job interviews where the potential employer provided a rental car. Always it was someone else paying for it and all they did was show their license.

This is possible, and I believe is done all the time. Specifics of the process on the renter-end I am not sure of... but you might just have your father-in-law call the major companies to ask.

Good luck.

Can I use a business credit card to buy personal items?
audrey hepburn collage

The reason I want to know is because it offers much better fixed APR then my other cards and it has 12 months 0% APR. It would be my card so I don't see why it would make a difference either way as long as it's paid. I don't need it or want it for business. I have been approved but it is not here yet and I certainly don't want to break any laws or get myself into some debt with the card holder for breaking some agreement. So, safe? Not safe? Thanks.
Edit to make more clear. This would be my card, not a card I got from an employer.
One more edit...I don't own a business.

They are no laws against it. However if you are audited as a business owner you better keep good records. Take these purchases as business expenses will affect your profit and loss. Thus affecting how much income and state taxes you owe for this business .. Best to use a seperate card if at all possible.
FYI A credit card used for business does not necessarily have to be a card that issued under your business name. In fact a personal card that you use exclusively for business has more consumer protection that a business issued card. You might want to look int this a bit as well.

  • AmEx reports 22 percent decline in 3Q profit

NEW YORK — American Express Co. reported its eighth straight quarter of falling profits on Thursday as consumers spent and borrowed less.

However, while the New York-based credit card company reported a 22 percent drop in earnings, it said there are signs that the decline in spending could be stabilizing and the rise in loan losses easing.

Investors viewed the report with caution, sending the stock down 34 cents to $36.10 in after-hours trading. Shares had gained $1.34, or 3.8 percent, to close regular trading at $36.44 before the report's release.

For the period ended Sept. 30, American Express said earnings after accounting for preferred stock dividends and other items totaled $632 million, or 53 cents per share. That is down from $810 million, or 70 cents per share, a year earlier.

Now Chase Is Jacking Up Credit Card Fees (JPM)

The outrage continues over Citi increasing interest rates on its credit cards, but now consumers have a new scapegoat to blame: Chase. The bank has also raised interest rates but it's too early to tell how much they've increased. One Chase credit card holder provides some insight:

AMNY : “They’re trying to be creative in the ways they can raise revenue,” said Ben Woolsey, director of marketing for Creditcards.com, an online research firm. “They’re either raising the fees or setting slightly more sensitive triggers for incurring fees.”
