I work as an analyst manually reviewing general applications for credit and credit line increases, and I see this question often here on Yahoo! Answers, and if I had a piece of advice I could offer to people that are struggling to get a credit card, I would suggest checking where you do you banking to see if they offer secured credit cards.
Major banks like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, USBank, and Citi all offer these cards, and how it works, is that you have to place a deposit upfront which is used as collateral to secure a matching credit line, for example, if you deposit $300, then your credit line would be $300. The deposit is held until you've denonstrated that the account can be kept in good standing, and then at some point later on, it's given back, and a regular card is issued.

I'm a sophomore in college and I want to establish credit. I want to know whats the best card to choose? Someone told me to try citi student credit cards. I'd like to keep up my credit so in 6 months to a year I can get a nice used car because finding transportation to work is becoming difficult. With the economy all crazy is now a good time?
I do have a checking and savings account.
Also. I have to get a car because my younger sister is pregnant and someone has to bring her to doctor appointments and pick her up from school while my parents are at work.
Since you are in college any student card will be a good one to start credit with, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com under student cards, they have no annual fee and carry low interest.

I just started my first job and am trying to establish good credit. What is the best credit card out there for me, what should I be looking for and what kind of card can I get with little credit history?
Capital One has cards for people with limited credit history.
You can use this rewards calculator to see which of numerous cards (including Capital One cards) will pay you the most in rewards for your entered spending profile:

This recommendation assumes that you'll be paying your balance in full each month (which is the best way to use credit cards). By funneling your normal expenses through the card and paying it in full every month, you'll build your credit quickly, avoid interest, and earn great rewards.
Good luck!
