Any tips for the Applied Bank secured credit card?

I want a secured card because I just graduated college and just started working. I would like to start building some credit w/out paying outrageous fees.

Applied Bank sounds pretty good so far. I don't mind paying a reasonable annual fee if I don't have to pay a super high APR (you know, in case of an emergency of default or something for whatever reason).

I'm just wanting to know what I should watch out for!

Thanks!!! =)

Yes

stay FAR away from Applied Bank

try
National City
US Bank
Citibank (good choice)
Bank of America
Wells Fargo

Citi Secured Credit card or Orchard Bank Secured Card?

Should i get a Citi Secured card or an Orchard Bank Secured Card and why?

They both seem to have about the same rates and all to me, so let me know what you think.

Thanks

I have had both cards. I would go with citi secured. The reason is because orchard bank has alot of fees. I believe a year ago when i had the card they charge you near $300 i believe then you have to pay down that balance. They have a long wait before your payments show up on account and their fees are high. The Orchard Bank card doesn't turn into a regular card after 12 or 18 months. Citi Secured is straight forward. You mail them your deposit they hold it in a CD with interest. Your only pay an annual fee of $29. I forgot what Orchard Bank annual fee was but it was higher. Also Citi Bank apr is 13.24% variable. Form experience Citi bank is a better choice then Orchard Bank. Please read the fine print Terms and Conditions on both and compare.

what is a good bank to get a secured credit card at?

i'd like to rebuild my credit. is there a good bank or credit union (perhaps an online bank) where i can have a secured credit card to help build my credit? most of my debt is from 6 years ago. thanks!

You don't have to get a secured credit card. There are other options. Some banks offer cards for people with bad credit so they can build their credit. Maybe the site below can help you find right cards for you. Good luck!

Will It Help My Credit Score To Finance A Car And To Pay It Off ...

I am trying to build credit so that my husband and I can get a homeloan. I am used to live within my means and to save until I can afford to buy what I need. I have enough money to buy a car in cash. But would it be better to finance it and pay it off immediately? Or would I have to pay off the entire loan (incl. interest) in order to boost my credit rating? I’m going to assume from your comment that you don’t have credit right now because you purchase everything in cash, right? I did that when I was young. Paid cash for my car and did’t have a card. Had $20,000 in the bank to put down for a mortgage. They wanted to refuse my loan because I didn’t have a credit...
