Im 17 and I want to start my credit. I was wondering if I can apply for a secured credit card at 17. I have the money already ready.
Go down to your local bank and talk to them about getting started. I was able to get started with a student credit card, but I was 18. I'm not sure if you can get a credit card because technically when you sign that little slip, it's a contract saying you'll pay it later, and most states won't let you sign a contract until you're 18. But like I said, your local bank would be a great place to start. You can also try a credit union, if your parents are a member of one.
Apply for a credit card with bad credit by getting a friend or relative to add you as an authorized user, fill out a co-borrower application or ...
I don't want an inquiry to go on my credit report if I get a secured credit card. So I am hoping that the bank that I apply at will not look up my credit report, leaving an inquiry on there.
Some still pull a credit report but some don't. A better way to do it is to ask the credit manager at the bank ahead of time. Or open a savings account and collateralize it. Make payments on the secured loan on time with the bank, later you go back and get a secured credit card. Credit Unions are good for this type of situation.

Here's a better idea. Instead of focusing your efforts on how to get a credit card, why not ask the question that wealthy people ask themselves, "How can I build my net worth?"
Have you ever noticed that so many people in this country have plenty of credit cards and car payments, but don't have any actual money? That's because they are sending every dime they make to creditors. People with high net worths avoid credit cards and expensive car payments.

Since I have bad credit I am looking to start off with a secured credit card.
I don't know much about all the APR things and what different kind of fees there are...
So I looking to see people's opinions on the card I should apply for and why?
I'm trying to go with the one that gives me the lowest interest or at least the lowest annual fee.

Getting a Bank of America secured credit card is easy. You have two options. You can either go to their website at www.bankofamerica.com or go into the bank and apply for the card in person.
It might be faster if you go in person and it might take a few days for them to get back with you if you applied online.
