College Credit Card Debt

I am currently a junior in college and I desperately used credit cards to pay off college since financial aid didn't cover it all so now I owe around 4,000 in debt. What is the best thing for me to do, since all of the accounts are closed, is there a college student credit card debt consolidation loan or?

This happens all the time to college students, credit card companies prey on people just like yourself. I don't recommend debt consolidation. It can back fire and make things worse for you.

Don't ruin your credit score by ignoring the problem. Whatever you do don't be late on any of your payments. Maybe you can pick up a part time job to pay it off. I do credit repair for a living, and you do have other options. If you respond maybe I can help you with this issue. I need more information. Best of luck

I've never had a credit card before, but I want to get one (for emergencies. food, books etc) but keep getting unapproved because of my financial problems from school. Also I dont want a college based credit card casue of their limits.Thanks in advance...

When I was in college about 10 years ago, I was irresponsible with some credit cards. Someone told me that the credit people wipe out your credit every seven years, it this accurate?

My advice, takes SPIFMANS answer, his is the only correct one so far.

BUT! the debt is still owed, it's just that they can not sue you in court, report it any longer on your credit report, about all they can do is beg.

I am a 23 yr old female, college senior, and anticipated to graduate in Spring 2011. Since I've been 18 Ive wracked up about 7k in credit card debt. I know that doesn't seem like much debt compared to others, but I work a part time job making $8/hr and I am starting to struggle to pay my credit card bills. I'm not behind or late as of right now.
I don't live at home and there is no way my living situation can change, so I do have rent and other various expenses. I am already in school part time, but my place of employment is open 830-430 so I only have so many hours in a day to get a work shift in between classes. I've began taking evening classes... I hate it but it's really my only choice as of right now.
I really need help managing my credit card payments. I have around 11 different cards. I tried to get a loan but I do not have collateral to combine all of my debt into one monthly payment (loan).
Please, any advice on either school/debt/work would be fantastic. I wish I had enough time in a day to work 2 jobs,but there is no way possible. I've been working 2 jobs for a year and quit because I've become too stressed out.

You might have to put college on hold and get a second job until your debt is under control.

have a bunch of credit card debt but can now pay it down faster. Is it better to pay it off faster and not save any money?

Imo pay it off asap. You could always borrow it again if you need to.
