I have been reviewing different websites for help with my credit card debt. Because of religious beliefs I am hoping to find someone that can offer Christian debt consolidation. Does anyone know who are the best Christan debt consolidators?
I have been a reporter and author on the debt industry for over 4 years. I have reviewed several companies in regards to Christian debt consolidation as several of my readers have asked this exact question. The main thing to look for is a company that offers several options, a free consultation, and has an excellent BBB rating. I have tried over 35 different services and this one has been the best above all others:

You will notice that it has a legitimate website URL and is not being used for marketing purposes like the other answers submitted to this question.

I've received a summons today that is delivered by a person to my home. It's Discover credit card debt and outstanding balance is about $9,000. I reside in Washington state and summon is from some attorney for plaintiff (Discover credit card) in Oregon State. I missed my minimum payment for about two months. The summon says I need to contact the plaintiff attorney in 20 days. Should I contact Discover card or the attorney? I can now pay minimum payment for two month which is about $400 and I don't know if I need to contact Discover and tell them I can pay the minimum or I need to contact the attorney.. I laid off about 3 month ago and desperately looking for job. Please advise what I should do with this attorney and Discover and if you're a Christian, please pray for me too. I'm 42 and worked hard but facing debts and need good advice. Thank you.
Well I doubt you're being sued after missing only two payments. It takes much longer than that. But either way I would call the attorney since if it really was given to you as an official summons, the lawyer is now handling the debt directly. I went thru this as well with another credit card company (although I worked for Discover at the time).
Just tell them your circumstance and that you are not working. Tell them you can either pay the past due amount or maybe offer to set up a monthly arrangement. Verify that they are now the ones in charge of the debt and NOT Discover. Most lawyers dont get emotional or try to threaten you, so if they act that way it may just be a collection agency (who are the scum of the earth). What I personally did was have a lawyer draft a settlement offer to make monthly payments on the contingency that they would NOT charge me interest. I also settled the total amt due at about 60% of the debt. They took that offer. Was worth having a lawyer draw up the papers for me, but you can just as well offer it directly to the lawyer yourself.
Good luck!
Credit card debit, college loans and medical bills are at critical levels and am way over my head. Trying to make monthly payments, but that is not enough. Not eating out or wearing new clothes, just not making enough money. Considering turning to a debt consolidation service, but not sure about who would be safe and secure to go through. Thanks for any input.
First of all they are a BAD IDEA from the get-go !!!!!!!!!!!! You can do this all by yourself and it wont cost you a cent !!!! And just because it says CHRISTIAN doe NOT mean it's good!!!! Some of the biggest swindles and rip-offs have been done under the guise of "Christian" !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will help you if you want. I have helped many. And wont charge you.
First you need to cut up ALL CREDIT CARDS. Then you need to call each credit company and ask to speak to the supervisor, you need to tell them that your current interest rate is way too high & you need to get a much better rate or you'll have to drop their card. (pay on time every month, so they'll want to keep you & always try to pay at least 40% more than minimum due and as much as you can afford!).
Do you have a checking account, I assume you do. If so, go to your bank & ask to open an OVERDRAFT PROTECTION ACCOUNT on it. This will enable you to pay your bills on time and it will keep your credit good as you wont have OVERdRAFTS!!! After you open that, you need to make all your credit card payments AUTO-PAY out of your checking account for at least the minimum due, preferably min.+ $10 each. This way you will NEVER be late on a CC payment and your credit will improve vastly in the next 6 months !!!! Also try to pay something on each card by check when it comes in by snail mail !
Then contrary to what most financial advisers advise, I want you to start paying down your lowest balance as much & as often as you can, if you have $5 extra in change that week, drop it in the bank & send them another check for $5 !!!
Dont buy ANYTHING you can make at home and take with you to work or play !!!! You're on a MONEY DIET !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make your own Latte, your own muffins, your own lunch !!! Dont buy an pre-packaged foods, make your meals from scratch!!! No movies, barrow movies from friends or the PUBLIC LIBRARY -- they are FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All you need is a library card !!!
I can council you more if you are interested, let me know. petunia1354@yahoo.com
I helped one co-worker clean up his credit and within 7 or 8 months he was able to buy his own home (and he was out of serious debt !!!) Aunt Barbie
Most people accept that Easter and Christmas were pagan holidays giving Christian make up by the early Catholic church to attract and convert pagans. The real Christians at that time were being killed off and persecuted.
People say they do Christmas and Easter because it is about Jesus. But all that Ive seen Christmas do is cause feuds, greed, credit card debt, depression, and a lust for worldly treasures. Seriously 99% of the people who celebrate Christmas probably dont even mention Jesus's name. And Easter - what is up with the teeth rotten candy and other weirdness like eggs.
And what is up with Christmas spirit? Whats the point of something that is one day of the year? If its so good you should have that spirit all year.
I think people can celebrate those holidays any way they wish (within legal guidelines). Personally, I celebrate them both ways. I reflect on God during these holidays and also enjoy the other aspects (Santa, Easter bunny). I think the two can be celebrated together - remembering Jesus and having fun are not separate for me.
Regarding The Christmas Spirit - I think Christmas time is when people are reminded about being loving, caring, and kind. It's a way to help people refocus. For some people the Christmas Spirit does last all year, for others the reminder is good.
Anyway, just some of my thoughts.
What is so horrible about staying in school, following the rules, graduating, going on to college, getting a good job, meeting the right person, falling in love, starting a relationship, getting married in a church, earning a decent living doing something you worked hard to become, buying a home, paying your taxes, and starting a family, and honoring your commitments?
Since when did dropping out of school, doing drugs, having casual sex, never going on to school, having kids out of wedlock with people you barely know, suing for child support, dating other people with kids from other failed relationships, making less than $24,000 a year, racking up $30,000 in credit card debt, and then blaming conservatism and the government for all of life's problems become so popular in this country?
Ironic that the institution of marriage, commitment, and morals are more important these days to gays and lesbians than they are to excuse making liberals!!!
It started in the 1960's. It's part of the "counter culture" creed which has become the main stream of the Democratic Party.
How Debt Consolidation Can Help You To Become A Debt Free Christian
You can transfer your high interest credit card debts to a card with relatively low interest rate. It will make it easier for you to repay your outstanding credit card dues. You can apply for a zero interest credit card to take the advantage of the initial zero percent interest rate period. It is advisable that you try to pay off your bills/debts before the initial low/zero percent interest period ends. You can also become a debt free Christian by taking out a consolidation loan that is similar to a personal loan. Make sure you take out a loan that is sufficient to repay your existing dues. Thus, you actually combine and replace all your existing loans by a single one. Moreover, the monthly payment...
