The windows were old, wood single pane and were in dire need of replacement.)
Well...no not really. You will pay approximately 25% of your withdrawal in penalties and taxes. Unless you "loan" the money to yourself. Some 401k's allow this.

I have $10000 in credit card debt. I need a loan to pay this because consolidation isn't working. Is there a website or something I can go to for this specific reason?
I do not own any property
never take an equity loan, never take a loan against a credit card debt...take an extra job or two, cut your expenses and live and eat cheaply till you have your debt paid off then cut up all your cards except one. Dave Ramsey is a guru (find him on the yahoo search engine) and he will tell you how to get out of debt. You can also call in your questions.
i have around $10000 in credit card debt. the ridiculous thing is, my interest rate has steadily gone up to almost 30%!!
Transferring the debt to another lower interest card would work only if you can be sure to pay back more than the minimum each month so that your debt goes down. The danger is that with your payments lower, you keep on spending!
A site I've used for info in the past ...

Hope that helps.
Why do you need so much money on an unsecured credit card? Why would you need that? If you're wanting to buy something, why not save up the money to do it.
If you're needing to buy a vehicle or something, get a car loan. A credit card is going to charge you at least 12% interest and that's if your credit is stellar. If you make enough and your credit is excellent you can get a card with that kind of limit from Bank of America, or American Express, or CitiBank.
I want to get out of credit card debt. I'm in college, but am working. I have several cards that are at their limits, and have used most of my savings trying to pay the interest each month. I probably have a total of $5000 in debt, and while I make around $8000-10000 a year, I do have other expenses to pay. What are my options?

Many mine Bible for money wisdom during downturn
BOSTON — A Hummer, a 1957 hot rod, a comfortable house in a gated community — if Bob Vigliotti wanted something, he bought it. Cash or credit didn't matter. As a successful commercial real estate developer from Naples, Fla., he could afford it. Until he couldn't.
